The 2026 edition of the 6 Heures Moto was marked by weather conditions that could best be described as \u2018tricky\u2019. While qualifying took place on a drying track, rain clouds moved over the circuit from 2:00 PM \u2013 two hours before the start \u2013 which naturally made the riders\u2019 task harder. There were quite a few crashes \u2013 fortunately none serious \u2013 leading to numerous periods behind the Safety Car. This frequently shook up the standings across the various categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the battle for overall victory, the Dunlop Test Team once again proved superior. Starting from pole position, the #37 team led by Peter Hickman and Jeremy Guarnoni dominated the race. By perfectly adapting to the challenging weather, they steadily extended their lead. Completing a total of 119 laps, the duo finished two laps ahead of the #18 Derous by MRP entry (Mike Parmentier, Maarten De Jongh, and Patrick Quintens). The latter team secured second place following the retirement of the #91 bike ridden by Yan Ancia, Sander Claessen, and Ouri Bikkems, which had been performing excellently until Bikkems crashed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Derous squad even looked set for a double podium, as the #234 Derous\/Hoffmann by MRP bike (Laurent Hoffmann, Thierry Wansart, and Fredrik Matthys) was running in the overall top three… until they made a mistake on the very last lap!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This allowed the #61 Mototech GYTR Pro Shop team (Arno Verstrepen, David Drieghe, and Davy Maes) to claim a podium spot; an outstanding result considering they had started from 34th place! To find the fourth team in the 1000 PRO class, one has to look down to 13th place overall, a spot held by the #96 CRS Som Jumbo Racing entry of Danijel Vidovic, Laurenzo Van Mello, and Bram Lambrechts. This is clear proof that the action wasn’t limited to just one category!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We also noted the early retirement of the #87 Interbike Racing Team (Gian Mertens, S\u00e9bastien Le Grelle, and Nicky De Wit) and the mechanical issues faced by the #4 CL Racing bike (Christopher Lequeux and Arnaud Dekimpe); the latter had really livened up the first part of the race but was forced to withdraw prematurely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With no fewer than 34 teams competing in the 1000 AM<\/strong> class, a fierce battle was anticipated during the six-hour race \u2013 and those expectations were certainly met! A different leader emerged during almost every neutralization period, and the category’s top two finishers ultimately placed within the overall top five. After starting from way back on the grid (40th!), the #21 Alteco TD Parket team \u2013 Wim Van Den Bossche, Wouter De Cooman, and Thomas Dieleman \u2013 demonstrated great efficiency, eventually claiming victory with a 32-second lead over the #69 MC 69 Racing team (Wesley Ceulemans, Tom Vanneste, and Steven Dierickx).<\/p>\n\n\n\n There was also a fierce fight for the final podium spot in the class, ultimately won by the #63 Team Voorwinden 1 (Jamie Van Sikkelerus, Aad Voorwinden, and Kris Voorwinden). The #274 Lux-Moto Racing AM team (Stig Dupuis, Gauthier Ferro, and Rapha\u00ebl Franzen) had done everything possible to secure that top-three finish… right up until they crashed within sight of the finish line! Rounding out the top five in the 1000 AM class were the category’s pole-sitters: the #123 Pani-Team #123 Ducati Aarschot, ridden by Bruno Ortmans, Benjamin Vanconingsloo, and Patrick Toussaint. It was a result that once again highlighted the competitiveness of the class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another stellar performance came from the top team in Trophy PRO<\/strong>, a category where riders share the same machine. The #294 JOJ Racing Team, featuring Maurice Mouton and Freddie Heinrich, proved to be the fastest, crossing the finish line sixth overall! They were the only Trophy entrants to feature at the front of the overall results. The second step of the podium went to the #333 NRT Endurance team (Cyril and Marc Leroux), while the #24 Trackdaysplanner Druijff Racing Kawasaki (Erwin Druijff, Eddie De Boer, and Thijs Westenbrink) rounded out the class podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Trophy AM<\/strong>, the #77 Team 77 (Martin Koehler, Pascal Schneider, and Gido Nittke) took the win and finished twelfth overall, ahead of the #28 Bene Racing team (Ives Aerts and Wim Boekestijn) and the #70 Team GP (Tony Leclere and Benoit Deschamps).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Among the 600cc machines, an explosive battle raged throughout the race, resulting in the top three in the 600 PRO<\/strong>class being separated by barely twenty seconds at the finish! The #777 BCM Racing Team (Koen Renard, Wally Jacobs, and Jamie Williams) narrowly claimed victory ahead of the #3 Full-Tactical.com team (Antoine Laloi and Maxence Doclot-Chiry), who in turn were closely pursued by the #944 VDL\/TDM team (Martin Vanderlinden and Bastien Van Vaerenbergh).
