A must-see event for motorcycle endurance in Belgium (and even elsewhere ...), the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps 2018 are held every year on the second Sunday of August, i.e. August 12th this year. A traditional appointment that the organizers have maintained despite everything, especially despite a significant increase in the rent of the circuit this year.
"Renting the Francorchamps circuit at this time of year is becoming more expensive," says Florian Jupsin, Motorcycle Department Manager at DG Sport. "We had a choice: stop everything or adapt the registration fees. We opted for this last solution, limiting its impact as much as possible to allow the largest number of riders to participate in this event, the success of which only increases year after year, with the participation of renowned international teams, but also of the many amateurs. "
If the prices were adapted, they were especially simplified with the adoption of a single rate: 1,800 euros for everyone. A slight increase for the teams that line up several bikes (they paid 1,700 euros in 2017), especially when we consider that the rates had not changed since 2015!
Registrations for this "all in one day" race (with qualifying practice in the morning and start of the race on the stroke of noon) are already open. As for the regulations, they did not undergo major changes, whether sporting or technical.
